DISAPPEARED WITHOUT TRACK IN ROMANIA

On 05.08.2015, he disappeared from the “Mihaela” Pension in Cheia Village, Măneciu, Prahova County, where he was staying. He was last seen in the yard of a nearby guesthouse.

WHO IS MOHAMMED ALBAGHLI?

Mohammed Albaghli was born on 04/06/1936 in Kuwait. He got married in 1955, has 5 boys and 3 girls, all are married with children of their own. He graduated from the Faculty of Law at Ain Shams University in Cairo in 1965.

He has held many government and private functions

  • He has held various positions including: civil servant, president of the directorate, supervisor, director of the commercial licensing department within the Ministry of Trade and Industry of Kuwait
  • He represented Kuwait in several exhibitions organized in Senegal, Kenya, Syria, Libya, etc.
  • Considering that his family handled for more than 150 years the manual making of traditional Kuwaiti mantles, in 1979 he founded with his brothers the first factory of Bisht (traditional Kuwaiti mantle) and chaired the Board of Directors of Albaghli Company for Textile
  • He was the chairman of the board of directors of Zari Real Estate Company

He has been actively involved in social activities, charity organisations and humanitarian actions

  • Member of the Kuwait Bar Association
  • Secretary and founding member of the Albaghli family council, carrying out various social and family activities
  • Active and supportive member of the Kuwaiti Charity Association for the Care and Rehabilitation of Older People
  • Active member of the Ibrahim Taher Albaghli Association "The Meritorious Son"
  • Carried out various charitable and social activities and also participated in several humanitarian activities
  • Played an active role during the brutal invasion of Kuwait by helping those in need, delivering aid despite being exposed to the risk several times

Passionate about antiques and travels, in love with Romania

  • He is passionate about collecting antiques: he donated to the National Museum of Kuwait several antique coins, he participated in the Exhibition of Antiques lovers organized by the National Museum of Kuwait in 1982.
  • Loving the trips, he started his pilgrimages from the 50s of the last century, he was impressed by Romania and especially by the village Cheia – Prahova County since the beginning of the 90s, coming annually to Cheia until his disappearance in the afternoon on Wednesday, August 5th, 2015.
